Registration 

A. Becoming a Free-Account User.

It is important that you register as a member first to access the full features of the BeED website. By signing up, you will be able to:

  • purchase unique Learning Experiences.
  • retain browsing history to facilitate easier travel booking.
  • create and compare your own customized tours by using the itinerary planner.
  • stay updated with BeED’s latest deals and developments.

Here’s how to get started:
  1. On the BeED homepage, click “Sign Up”.
  2. Sign up using the email address of your choice. You will be sent a confirmation email to your designated email address.
  3. Click on the link in the confirmation email to complete your personal details. Congratulations! You are now BeED’s newest member!
  4. Proceed to log in on the BeED homepage.

B. Becoming a Pro-Account User.

Schools can have the option of being Pro-Account Users as it will open more exciting features in the BeED website and app. Some of these features include:

  • Share Learning Experiences with an unlimited number of students.
  • Access to a Hub where teachers can keep track of students’ progress in chosen Learning Experiences.
  • Opportunity to create customized Learning Experiences tailored to fit the students’ needs and proficiency level*.

To sign up as a Pro-Account User, contact us by filling in the enquiry form in the Contact Us section and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

C. I’m a Pro-Account User, but I don’t see any Learning Experiences that I like.

As Pro-Account users, you have the option of selecting conscripted writes. These Learning Experiences are specifically created to suit your students’ needs in terms of location, syllabus, academic subject and proficiency level. To enquire more about customizing Learning Experiences, kindly send us an enquiry in the Contact Us section.

D. I love your work! How do I renew my subscription as a Pro-Account user?

We’re happy you like our work! If you want to renew your subscription, kindly contact us under the Contact Us section on the BeED website. We’ll also be sending you gentle reminders 3 months before your subscription ends to remind you about renewing your membership.

E. What if I do not want to renew my Pro-Account yearly subscription?

We hope you’ll never come to that decision. However, if you do, then your account will automatically switch back to a Free-User Account once your subscription ends. This means that you are now ONLY allowed to share all the purchased Learning Experiences with only three other email addresses. Any unused credit will be forfeited.


Learning Experiences 

A. What is a Learning Experience, and what’s so great about it?

Our Learning Experiences (LEs) aim to enhance travel by making it more enriching and rewarding. Through these LEs, learners explore and connect school syllabi to actual points of interest around the world. For example, learners may choose an LE that links the topic of microorganisms in Biology while on-site at the Terracotta Army in Xi’an, China or one that teaches mathematical formulas to calculate the projectile path of a cannonball at historical Fort Canning in Singapore. BeED’s Learning Experiences thus bridge the gap between textbook learning and an on-site application of academic knowledge, making education more relevant and exciting for learners of all ages.

B. Searching for Learning Experiences:

Once you have logged in, click on the “Learning Experiences” option located in the toolbar. You will have the option to search for Learning Experiences.

To use the search engine, type in the city or country of your choice. You can also use the Advanced Filter option, which allows you to further refine your search by looking at the following categories: school level/syllabus/subject.*

*If you do not find what you are looking for in the country/city/school level/syllabus/subject categories, please do check back with us from time to time! We are continuously expanding our Learning Experiences to cover more places, syllabi and subjects.

C. Purchasing Learning Experiences.

Choose the Learning Experience of your choice and click on the shopping cart icon  . Select your preferred mode of payment and you’re on your way!

For Free-Account Users, you can share your purchased Learning Experience to up to 2 other email addresses. That way, if you share the Learning Experience with your child, he/she can access it from the BeED app on his/her own phone.

For Pro-Account Users, you can share your purchased Learning Experience with any number of email addresses.

D. I really like the Learning Experience that I purchased. Can I share it with someone else?

That’s one of the great things about BeED – we’re more than happy when someone wants to spread education! When you sign up as a Free-Account user, you’re entitled to share all your purchased Learning Experiences to up to three different email addresses.

Just click on your profile picture once you’ve logged in, select “Profile” and then “My User List”. Fill in the email addresses of your choice* and send the invite!

*These email addresses will be permanently linked to your principal account as a BeED Free-Account user. Please note that you can make up to one change in email addresses only.

For Pro-Account Users, you have the added benefit of being able to share Learning Experiences to an unlimited number of email addresses.

E. Why are the Learning Experiences priced differently?

Each Learning Experience is carefully crafted by our writers and will often require a pre-writing inspection at the actual place of interest. Due to this, the expenses incurred in the creation of these Learning Experiences are greater when they are of places of interest in a developed country.

Currently, our list of developed countries include Singapore, while our list of developing countries include Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Vietnam*.

Moreover, the Learning Experiences all have varying durations, measured in 2-hour blocks. Learning Experiences that require more than 2 hours will be priced higher as more work and effort has been put into their development.

F. I’ve just received an email saying that someone has shared a Learning Experience with me. What does that mean?

If you receive this email, it means that one of our members have purchased a Learning Experience and would like you to try it out as well. Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay anything! Just sign up with us on the BeED website and download the BeED mobile app on the Google or Apple Store. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you will find the shared Learning Experience located in your Library.

G. Someone has just shared a Learning Experience with me. Can I share it with someone else?

If someone has shared a Learning Experience with you, then that person is a registered Free-Account user with BeED, and yours is a supplementary account. As a supplementary account holder, you are able to utilize the Learning Experience, but cannot share it with another. If you would like to purchase your own Learning Experiences and to share them with someone else, then please register again as a Free-Account user. Please note that you would need to use a different email address if you choose to sign up as a new member with BeED.

Using the BeED App 

A. How do I download the BeED mobile app?

For ease of travelling, your itinerary is best viewed through the BeED mobile app. To download:

  1. Go to Google Play or Apple Store
  2. Install

Once you have installed the app, you will find 2 introductory Learning Experiences located in your library titled “Introduction to the BeED app” and “How to Create Your First Learning Experience”.

The “Introduction to the BeED app” Learning Experience will take you through the basics of using the BeED app, while the “How to Create Your First Learning Experience” is for anyone interested in becoming a BeED Contributor.

B. Is it necessary for me to download the BeED mobile app?

All Learning Experiences can only be accessed through our BeED mobile app available on both android or iphone. Once you have purchased the Learning Experience from the BeED website, it will automatically be made available in the Library under the BeED app in your mobile phone.

Also, having the BeED mobile app makes it easier for you to remain organized during your travels as all the created itineraries will be available in your mobile app.

C. I’ve downloaded the BeED app. Now what?

Once you have installed the app, you will find 2 introductory Learning Experiences located in your library titled “Introduction to the BeED app” and “How to Create Your First Learning Experience”. The “Introduction to the BeED app” Learning Experience will take you through the basics of using the BeED app, while the “How to Create Your First Learning Experience” is for anyone interested in becoming a BeED Contributor.

Becoming a BeED Contributor 

A. What is a BeED Contributor?

A BeED Contributor can create Learning Experiences to be shared with learners across the globe. It can be a rewarding process as not only will you be able to have your own creative work published, but you will provide countless others the opportunity to learn and explore the world around them as well.

B. What can I earn as a BeED Contributor?

Being a BeED Contributor is a rewarding process. Not only will you be able to have your own creative Learning Experiences published, but you will provide countless others the opportunity to learn and explore the world around them.

C. How do I become a BeED Contributor?

Here’s how to begin the exciting journey as a BeED contributor:

  1. Once you have logged in, click on your Profile picture to locate the “Sign up as Contributor” link.
  2. You will then be sent a confirmation email to validate.
  3. As a Contributor, you will now have access to the Contributor Technical Support page where you can find resources such as tutorial videos to help you get started on writing your first Learning Experience.
  4. Download the BeED mobile app from the Google/Apple store as well to gain access to an introductory Learning Experience that will take you step-by- step through the writing process.

Journal 

A. What is the Journal?

The Journal is a unique BeED feature that enables you to keep records of your travels. Upload videos, audio files or pictures of your trip to create precious and lasting memories. The “Add tag” function offers greater convenience for you to search through all your posts and pictures of your trips as well.

Planning Your Trip 

A. Creating an Itinerary.

Here’s how to create your own customized itinerary:

  1. Once you have logged in, click on the “Planner” option located in the toolbar, and go to “Itinerary”.
  2. Click on the   Plan New Trip  to create a new trip
  3. Fill in the necessary details, and you’re ready to create your itinerary!
  4. To edit your itinerary after creating it, click on the “view” icon  .
  5. You can add events to your itinerary to plan and maximize your entire trip.* Click on the “Add event” option to choose from the following range of categories:
    • Activity
      • Include popular places of interest in your chosen location.
    • Lodging
      • Choose from more than 1 million different selections across the globe.
    • Flight
      • Select from a variety of airlines and flight routes from major to low-cost carriers.
    • Meals
      • Plan your meals day by day by choosing from an endless variety of restaurants in your chosen location.
    • Learning Experiences
      • Enhance your trip by selecting Learning Experiences that are available in your chosen location.
  6. To extend your trip, just click on the “Add day” function.

*You will notice that as you add more and more events to your trip, the BeED system will automatically calculate the distance and duration of travel required between two chosen locations. This will ease your planning process by helping you estimate and manage the time spent traveling from one location to another.

B. I’ve got my trip all planned out. How do I book it?

Once you have created an itinerary that is perfect for you, proceed to confirm your trip by selecting the “Travel” tab in the main BeED toolbar and clicking on “Travel Booking”.

Select your preferred flights, hotels and/or ground transport arrangements according to your chosen dates of travel.

For bookings exceeding 10 pax, please use our Group Travel Concierge Services to get exclusive rates from our team of travel experts.

C. Do I need to create an itinerary before booking my trip on the BeED website?

Not necessary! The itinerary is just an added tool for you to make your trip arrangements easier.

D. I want to book flight and ground arrangements for 10 or more people. What can I do?

For bookings of 10 or more people, please use our “Group Travel Concierge Services” to get exclusive rates from our team of travel experts. Just send us an enquiry and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

Travel Arrangements 

BeED works closely with Trip-Smart Inc. to fulfil all your essential travel requirements. For any information regarding your flight, hotel or ground arrangements that is not answered below, please contact toll-free (864) 990-3074 or email travel@Trip-Smart.com.

Flights

A. How much time do I need to arrive at the airport for my flight?

In general, airlines recommend that passengers arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before domestic flights, and 3 hours before international flights. Most airlines will require passengers to be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before departure.

B. I need to change my flight. What can I do?

Contact our Travel Support team by emailing trip-smart@beeducation.biz or by calling 1 (864) 558-5005. Please note that most flights are non-refundable and airlines may charge large processing fees for any changes made.

C. Can I change the name on my flight ticket?

Name changes on booked tickets are only allowed in the case of marriage or correction for an incorrect name given during the time of booking. These changes are subject to the policies and guidelines of the airline.

D. Can I transfer my flight ticket to someone else?

Most airlines will charge a fee for changing the name details on flights. However, some airlines will not allow this, in which case new tickets must be bought for the person you wanted to transfer to. Kindly call the airline for more information.

E. Can I select my seat on the flight?

Not all airlines allow or will confirm flight seating before your arrival at the airport. To request for a special seating assignment before check-in, please contact the airline directly or our Travel Support team by emailing trip-smart@beeducation.biz or calling 1 (864) 558-5005

F. How do I request special meals?

Our Travel Support Team can assist you with special meal requests. Please note that we cannot guarantee these requests but will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please contact our Travel Support team by emailing trip-smart@beeducation.biz or calling 1 (864) 558-5005

G. Are there discounts for infant/child fares? Infants 0 – 24 months

If a child is below 2 years of age, he will not be charged for a seat provided he travels on the parent’s lap OR in a bassinet for the duration of the journey unless specifically stated by the airline. When booking online, please request for a bassinet should you need one.

Airport tax will still be incurred for infants below 24 months.

Any available discounts for child fares will show up when you make the initial flight search and booking. No additional discounts or fares will be available.
Car Seats (6 – 36 months)

Children between 6 – 36 months may travel on board in car seats as long as a separate seat is purchased for the child. The car seat must be the forward facing type only that can be secured to the seat by the use of a lap seatbelt. Please further check with your airline prior to check-in if you are unsure of whether your car seat fits within their rules and guidelines.

Children 2 – 11 years

Some airlines may offer discounted rates for children between these ages. The discounted rates will be shown during the time of booking.

H. Can I travel with my infant if he/she is younger than a month old?

Some airlines will allow your infant to travel once he is two weeks of age, while others do not allow babies on board until they are older. However, airlines will allow your infant to travel at a younger age if it is a medical emergency. Please check with your airline to enquire more.

I. Why is the ticket price different from when I last checked?

Airlines can and do reserve the right to change the fare at any time before you complete your booking and are issued a ticket. Please note that these changes come directly from the airlines and are outside of the control of Beeducation Adventures Sdn. Bhd. (BeED).

J. Can I make a reservation over the phone?

Due to security concerns with payment details and the greater probability of errors, we must request that all bookings be made directly on and through the website.

K. Is there a limit of how many passengers can be booked in one reservation?

You are allowed to book for up to 9 people per booking (inclusive of children below 12). Any group larger than this is considered a “Group Booking”. Should you need to book for 10 or more people, please use our Group Travel Concierge Services.

L. What are the baggage restrictions for my flights?

Baggage restriction for your flight will be determined by the airline. Please contact the airline directly for any questions regarding baggage. You can also see the baggage details for your flight before booking by selecting the “Baggage Policy” link on your flight search page.

M. Do you offer any Senior Citizen discounts?

Senior Citizens may qualify for a discount for their flight. This will be shown when you make your initial search for the flight. No additional discounts or fares will be available.

N. Do I have to reconfirm my flight?

Once your flight is ticketed you will be ready to travel on the ticket number that you are sent. Some airlines may require you to check in 24-48 hours before your flight through their online website. Please contact the airline directly for assistance with this.

O. If I have flight reservations and the airline changes my itinerary, will BeED notify me?

Yes, any major changes to your flight reservation will be relayed to you as soon as possible.

P. Can I use my Frequent Flyer miles to book a ticket?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Frequent Flyer Miles are typically only redeemable directly on an airlines website.

Q. Will I earn Frequent Flyer miles for purchases on the site?

Any Miles that you may earn will be determined by the airline themselves. We cannot guarantee or verify any mileage that you may earn. For additional details please contact the airline directly.

Hotels

A. Why is the hotel price different from when I last checked availability?

Due to different promotions, room availability and demand, the hotel or supplier may change the pricing anytime until the booking process is completed. Please note that these changes come directly from the hotel and their suppliers and are outside the control of Beeducation Adventures Sdn. Bhd. (BeED).

B. Can I make hotel reservations for someone else?

You are able to make a hotel reservation for another person. Please note that they typically must be over the age of 21 years old and will often require proof of identity upon arrival. A credit card may also be required upon check-in.

C. How do I know if my hotel reservation is confirmed?

Your hotel room will be reserved the moment you receive your booking confirmation email. This will include the reservation number that you will use upon check in as proof that your reservation has been accepted.

D. I spelled my name incorrectly while booking. How do I change it?

We will do our best to assist you with any name corrections. Please contact our Travel Support team by emailing trip-smart@beeducation.biz or calling 1 (864) 558-5005 and be sure to have your Booking ID ready.

E. My money has been deducted and I haven’t received any confirmation email or booking from your website. What can I do?

Your booking confirmation email may have been pushed to your junk or spam email folders. Please contact our Travel Support team by emailing trip-smart@beeducation.biz or calling 1 (864) 558-5005 and we will gladly find your booking information and resend it to you.

F. Can I cancel or make changes to my hotel booking?

The ability to cancel or change a hotel booking is determined by the hotel and their supplier directly. Our team will gladly assist you with any change requests but we cannot guarantee any changes. Fees will be determined by the hotel and the supplier but we will always request that any fees are waived or removed on your behalf, when necessary. G. When will I be charged for my hotel reservation?

This will be determined by the hotel and the supplier directly. Some hotels are pre-paid and will take your payment instantly or within a very short window. These bookings are typically non-refundable bookings. Some bookings will only charge you upon arrival or upon checkout from your hotel. To check the cancellation policies, please check your confirmation email or select the “Cancellation & other policies” link in your initial hotel search.

Car Rentals

A. What are the age requirements to rent a car?

Most car rental agents have a minimum age limit of 21 years for rentals. However, requirements may vary depending on the car rental agent and destination country. Please note that there may be additional charges if the main driver is under 25 or over 75 years old to cover the extra insurance cost.

B. What information will I need to pick up my rental car?

Please bring your passport, driver’s license and credit card. If there are additional drivers, they will also have to bring their passports and drivers’ licenses.

C. How do I pay for the car rental?

There are different payment options available which are clearly stated in the booking process:

A Prepaid Deposit –
Pay an amount now to secure the vehicle and the balance of the car rental booking is taken 7 days before the pick-up date.
B Part Paid –
Pay a small deposit at the time of booking to secure the vehicle and pay the balance at the time of pick-up at the car rental desk.
C Pre-Paid –
Pay the full amount for the vehicle at the time of booking.
D Post-Paid –
Confirm the vehicle without payment. The balance is paid in full at time of arrival at car rental desk.

D. Do I need an international driver’s permit?

An acceptable, valid driver's license issued from your country of residence must be presented at the time of rental. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver's license is in a language other than English, an International Driver's Permit is recommended. In all cases, a valid driver's license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver's Permit. You will not be allowed to rent a vehicle with only an International Driver's Permit.

E. What does the collision insurance cover?

Insurance policies differ from agent to agent. Please contact your car rental agency directly to enquire more about your insurance needs.

F. How do I file a claim?

Claims must be filed directly with the insurance provider.

Special Assistance

A. I have a physical disability and find it difficult to move around. Can I be guaranteed special assistance on the flight or at the hotel?

If you require special assistance for flights we will be glad to assist you. We are also more than happy to help in requesting assistance at a hotel, or a request to have a room with special accommodation. However, please note that the Travel Support team cannot guarantee if hotels are able to fulfil your requests. B. Who should I contact if I need special assistance?

C. Can I still travel if I am 9 months pregnant?

Although you are able to travel while pregnant, we have several guidelines that must be followed. Keep in mind that ticket change fees and penalties aren’t waived for pregnancy. If you are traveling after your eighth month, it is a good idea to check with your doctor to be sure it will be OK. Also, you may require special approval from a doctor to be allowed to travel to most countries. You will also need to contact the individual country’s embassy or consulate for additional information and for assistance with any paperwork or special restrictions that may be necessary or in place.

Billing & Payments

A. I have been charged more than what was quoted. What do I do?

Beeducation Adventures Sdn. Bhd. (BeED) does not make any changes to your quote and adds no additional fees. Please check to see if your quote is different due to conversion fees or international currency fees, or for making a payment that is not in your home country’s currency.

B. What is the currency conversion rate if I book for a trip overseas using my credit card?

The currency conversion rates fluctuate constantly and will typically be determined by your bank within 24 to 48 hours of your booking date. These are out of the control of Beeducation Adventures Sdn. Bhd. (BeED). Please contact your financial institution for additional details.

C. I have successfully been granted a refund. When can I expect my refund?

If your refund is for a hotel booking, and the money has already been removed from your account, the refund will typically appear in 3-5 business days from the date of approval.

If your refund is for a car booking, and the money has already been removed from your account, the refund will typically appear in 3-5 business days from the date of approval.

For a flight booking, the refund may appear as a future travel credit from the airline. This can be used immediately and typically has a 1 year expiration date. If a monetary refund is issued by the airline, this will typically appear in your financial account in 3-7 business days from the date of approval.

Visa and Passport Assistance

A. Where can I find info on visa and entry requirements?

You can refer directly to the specific country’s main tourism website, or go here: http://www.projectvisa.com/ to find out about visa and entry requirements for all countries.

B. How do I get a visa if my country of travel requires it?

You can try to apply online with the embassy located in your country. If the embassy does not accept online applications, then call them directly to enquire more about the process.

C. Can BeED help apply for a visa??

We currently only offer assistance with visa applications for Malaysian citizens who have a Group Travel Booking with us.

D. My name has changed because of marriage or divorce, but my passport still retains my old name. Do I need to apply for a new passport?

The details that you used during the time of booking must match with the ID that you are travelling with. You may be refused entry to a flight or country otherwise.
