Located in the centre of the busy city of Bangkok, Bang Kra Jao is a huge tree-covered area known also as the “Green Lungs of Bangkok”. It was originally a Burmese settlement with a population of 40,000 people. The locals have set up a code to restrict the construction of high rise buildings and factories in order to preserve the area. There are plenty of plants and fruit trees that can be spotted in the locality. Visitors can choose to either cycle or walk through the narrow walkways with mangrove swamps lying a good distance on both sides. It is definitely a great place to take a break from the chaos and bustle of Bangkok city.
