The KL Forest Eco Park is a lowland tropical rainforest that is situated right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and at the base of the KL tower. It was given the status of a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest parks in Malaysia. A large portion of the land was used to construct the KL tower. The park consists of various jungle tracks, canopy walk, outdoor sheds, walk-up towers and herbal plant garden. It is a home to about 233 species of animals and plants and are protected under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010. The transformation of the rainforest to a recreational park was done due to high demands from the visitors. The park offers a few exhibition sites and also area that is available of camping and hiking. This Learning Experience is about the interaction between plants and animals and how conservation efforts are being taken to maintain a balanced ecosystem. This Learning Experience is suitable for secondary school, year 1-3.
